Hello all, here is another news round-up for you as another Monday appears from nowhere.

Mountain Boy Minerals (TSX.V: MTB; Frankfurt: M9UA) announced that recent exploration work at their Southmore project in the Golden Triangle of British Colombia has “confirmed the prospective nature of this well-located property”[1].. Work included geological mapping and sampling, and identified a number of mineralised showings including skarns, veins, and zones of quartz-sericite and pyrite alteration. Work further deduced the 5038ha area’s geological similarity to two nearby projects[2][3].

Riverside Resources (TSXV:RRI, OTCQB:RVSDF, F:R99) just announced the commencement of their 2,000m, 10-hole drill program at their partner-funded Los Cuarentas project in northern Mexico. Los Cuarentas Gold-Silver Project is located in northern Mexico in Sonora, and is host to a high-grade, low-sulphidation Au-Ag epithermal system which was mined underground during the 1950s. See Spotlight’s coverage of this news below for more information!

Mawson Gold (TSX: MAW, FSE:MXR, PK:MWSNF) announced assay results from 2 diamond drill holes at their 100%-owned Sunday Creek project in the Victorian Goldfields of Australia. The first: 5m at 5.2 g/t Au including 0.29m at 79.4 g/t Au (both from 53.8m) and 21m at 3.4 g/t Au including 1.1m at 22.3 g/t Au (both from 109m). The second: 7.9m at 1.8 g/t Au from 71.7m. The current program aims to drill 5km of the project area which is prospective for epizonal-style gold.

SolGold (TSX:SOLG, LSE:SOLG) provided an update on drilling at their Porvenir Project in southern Ecuador. Drilling has intersected potassic altered diorite porphyry with ~2-3% chalcopyrite and ~3-4% porphyry-style quartz veins by volume. SolGold are planning a 50,000m drill program for the project based on increasing potential for a large copper-gold porphyry system to be unravelled.

Faculty for the Future Grant - Applications for the Schlumberger Foundation’s Faculty for the Future grant are open until November 9th. The program’s aim to increase gender parity in STEM disciplines by reinforcing the presence and qualifications of women in developing and emerging countries. The grant is available for PhD or postdoctoral study in a STEM field. More information below.

Potential displacement for open-pit copper mine. The Tampakan Mining Project in South Cotabato, Philippines, is experiencing open opposition due to the fact mine development would result in the displacement of more than 870 households, of which 582 belong to Blaan indigenous people (pronounced bla-an). As of yet the mine is not fully permitted to begin development. Other potential risks presented by the project include environmental detriment owing to the proximity of 6 river systems, reduced food supply and negative health impacts.

Wednesday 4th, 16:00 - 17:30 GMT - Remote sensing for gold exploration in sub-tropical region: case study of the Ngoura-Colomines goldfield, Eastern Cameroon By Jonas D. Takodjou Wambo AND Galat Sufar South gold deposit (Sudan) (TBC) By Julien Perret. An Ore Deposits Hub event.

Friday 6th, 16:00 AEDT - A talk on the current research that may impact exploration in the future, insights from industry, university, researchers, companies, and geological surveys. By Andrew Bailey. A GeoHUG event.

Wishing you all a happy week!
