Mammoth Resources (TSXV:MTH) announced they have secured an extension on their surface access agreement with one of the two communities local to their Tenoriba gold-silver project in the Sierra Madre, Mexico. Talks with the second community are scheduled for the next few weeks. The property is prospective for gold and results of surface rock sampling thus far have returned grades up to 23.50 g/t Au.
Anaconda Mining (TSX:ANX, OTCQX: ANXGF) provided the highlights of Q3 2020 production and announced the completion of a non-brokered private placement of $5.5m which will be used to fast track their highly prospective exploration and diamond drill programs in Canada, including the Goldboro Gold and Tilt Cove Gold projects.
Riverside Resources (TSXV:RRI, OTCQB:RVSDF) announced the results of their recent 3.8km, 5-line Induced Polarisation survey at their partner-funded (Carlyle Commodities) Cecilia project in Sonora, Mexico. Results of the large-scale geophysics have provided information of the alteration and structure of the Magallanes rhyolitic dome while a smaller scaled 50m spaced IP survey has been used to refine and detail drill targets. The upcoming drilling aims to test multiple gold-bearing structures to depths of 250m below surface.
SolGold (TSX:SOLG, LSE:SOLG) announced an update on their Porvenir copper-gold project located in Ecuador. The project is 100% owned by Green Rock Resources, a wholly owned subsidiary of SolGold, and has fully funded exploration planned until mid- to -late 2021. Final assays are as follows: 570m @ 0.69% CuEq (0.49% Cu, 0.27 g/t Au) from 10m to 580m at a cut-off grade of 0.20% CuEq (open at depth). Results from the final 329.3m are expected later this month.
Lithium gets larger. Codelco, a Chilean state-owned copper producer, have been granted approval by the Environmental Assessment Commission of Atacama to begin exploration of their 145km2 Maricunga salt flat holdings. Work is estimated to commence in April 2021 and over 6-10 months will aim to ascertain the concentration of lithium, so an environmental and economic assessment of the potential project can be made. Chile is estimated to have the world’s largest lithium reserves, and Codelco’s holdings represent less than 5% of the Salar de Atacama where the battery metal is so enriched.
Rare earth rainbow attracting attention. Rainbow Rare Earths (LON:RBW) are at the beginnings of an agreement with Bosveld Phosphates to co-develop the brownfields Phalaborwa REE and gypsum project in northeast South Africa. The estimated average in situ TREO grade is 0.6%, and REEs are contained within the estimated 35Mt of gypsum produced from previous hard-rock phosphate mining at the site. This equates to an estimated 210,000t of rare earths with much easier processing than other in-situ deposits. Production is a way off as a prefeasibility study and compliant reporting of the deposit is still required. It is certain that with proven resources the project will not fail to attract investment with the current frenzy for REEs.
